BABBITT PUBLIC LIBRARY ART GALLERY

Local artists are invited to showcase their work in the Babbitt Public Library Art Gallery.

Our Mission
The Babbitt Public Library is dedicated to enriching community life by offering engaging reading, viewing, and listening opportunities; inspiring literacy and lifelong learning; sparking imagination; and supporting individuals and businesses in achieving their goals.

About the Art Gallery
The Babbitt Public Library Art Gallery highlights local talent with a rotating display of framed artwork. One wall is specifically reserved for student art. All displayed pieces must be appropriate for family viewing, framed, and equipped with a single wire hanger. An artist’s statement (font size 12 or larger, on 8.5" x 11" paper) should accompany each submission.
Artwork measuring 30" x 36" or larger requires prior approval from Gallery staff. Artists are responsible for hanging and removing their work on an agreed-upon schedule.

The Library reserves the right to remove artwork at its discretion and may use images of submitted artwork for promotional purposes. Artists are asked to provide a JPEG image (approx. 2000 x 3000 pixels) of one or two pieces on a disc for promotional use. Promotion may include press releases or announcements through The Babbitt Weekly, Ely Echo, The Timberjay, and babbittlibrary.blogspot.com.

All artwork displayed in the Gallery is covered under City insurance. While the Gallery does not host sales or display pricing, artists are encouraged to provide business cards or contact information for interested patrons.

Community Access
The Gallery is open during regular Library hours, and community members are welcome to stop in and enjoy the displays. Local artists interested in exhibiting their work may call 218-827-3345 for details.

Several talented local artists maintain ongoing displays that are frequently updated—visit often to see what’s new!
