display their work in the Babbitt Public Library Art Gallery.
Mission: Babbitt Public Library seeks to enrich community life with stimulating reading, viewing, and listening opportunities, to inspire literacy and lifelong learning, stimulate imagination, and to support individuals and businesses in reaching their goals.
Babbitt Public Library Art Gallery promotes local art and artists with a gallery of wall displays for hanging framed work. One display is designated for student art. Art is to be suitable for family viewing, framed with a single wire hanger on the back, and accompanied by an artist’s statement in a font of 12 or larger on 8.5x11 paper. Pieces 30”x36”or larger require prior approval by Gallery personnel before hanging. Hanging and removal of pieces will be done by the artist on an agreed schedule. Babbitt Public Library reserves the right to remove art works from display at their discretion. Babbitt Public Library reserves the right to use the artist's images for promotional purposes. A jpeg image of one or two art works sized at approximately 2000x3000 pixels on a disc is requested for promotional use. Personal Service Announcements and/or Press Releases with The Babbitt Weekly, Ely Echo, The Timberjay, and babbittlibrary.blogspot.com are among avenues of promotion used by Babbitt Public Library. Art on display in the Library's gallery is covered by the City's insurance. The Library gallery does not host pricing or sales but artists are encouraged to provide business cards and contact information for potential customers.
